Privacy Policy

About this policy

Planet Focus is provided by Xiaoyu Yin, operating as First App Studio. This policy covers the iPhone app, its Apple Watch companion and widgets, and these support pages. Optional Firebase analytics and diagnostics apply to version 0.1.0 build 3 and later; earlier builds do not include Firebase. No account is required, and the app has no ads.

Data on your devices

Timers, settings and focus history are stored on your devices. Widgets read a local shared snapshot; Apple Watch transfers settings and completed sessions between your paired devices. We do not upload your focus-history records to our servers. CSV files are shared only when you choose to export them. Notifications are scheduled locally. Your Apple device backup settings may also apply.

Optional usage analytics

Usage analytics is off until you enable it in Privacy & Data. Google Firebase Analytics receives app opens, timer starts, completions and early stops, timer phase and duration ranges, purchase-page views, Pro plan and purchase or restore outcomes. The SDK also handles installation identifiers, event timestamps, app and device information, approximate region and automatic lifecycle and purchase events. We use this to understand usage and improve the app. We do not send your exact focus-session dates or history, custom user IDs, email, receipts or payment-card details. Advertising identifiers and personalised advertising are disabled.

Optional crash reports

Crash reports have a separate switch, also off by default. Google Firebase Crashlytics receives crash stacks, diagnostic error codes, crash timestamps, installation and session identifiers, and app, device and operating-system information to help find and fix failures. When analytics is also enabled, recent app-event breadcrumbs may accompany reports. We do not attach your focus history or free-text notes to reports.

Purchases and support

Apple processes payments and subscriptions. Planet Focus checks signed purchase records on your device to unlock Pro; we do not receive payment-card details. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you include, and use it to answer your request. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details or unnecessary personal information.

Your choices and data retention

You can use the app without sharing analytics or crash reports and change either choice in Settings → Privacy & Data. Disabling analytics stops future collection and resets its local identifier. Disabling crash reports stops automatic reporting from the next launch and requests deletion of unsent reports. These switches and uninstalling do not delete data already sent to Google.

Analytics event data is set to 2 months and user data to 14 months; new activity resets the user-data retention period. These settings do not limit standard aggregated reports. Firebase retains crash stacks and associated identifiers for 90 days before starting deletion from live and backup systems. Support correspondence is kept only as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable obligations. Local records remain until removed from your devices; exported files and backups may remain separately. Uninstalling does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Service providers and international processing

We use Google Firebase for the optional features above and Apple for purchases and device services. Google may process data in countries where it or its service providers operate, including the United States, under its applicable data-protection terms and transfer safeguards. When you visit these pages, Cloudflare processes connection information such as IP address and browser information to deliver and protect the website. These pages contain no analytics scripts or advertising cookies. External links follow the destination’s policy. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

Privacy rights

Optional analytics and diagnostics rely on your consent; you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Support information is used for our legitimate interest in responding to requests. Where applicable law provides, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing, or complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us below. We do not connect your email to Firebase installation identifiers, so we may be unable to identify a particular report from your email alone; we will explain any limitations and help with available options.

Children and changes

Planet Focus is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us. We update this policy when our data practices change and show the updated date on this page.
